I did a fill-in guest strip for Dresden Codak! Read it! Wait, no, read my damn blog first. :)

All is fine in the world. I am getting into the final stretch of packaging the Kickstarter orders, and books have been shipped to TopatoCo so that they should be available their soon too.

I must be feeling a bit more on top of things, because I’ve begun Twittering again after hardly doing so since about November. Feel free to follow my insightful pithy commentary on cookies and the like over there, I’m chris__baldwin (that’s a double-underscore)

Oh, and have I mentioned that I have a show hanging in Fuel Coffee in Wallingford? Because I do. it’s this show.

So, I did a guest strip for the brilliant Aaron Diaz for his comic DRESDEN CODAK! It was lots of fun, and I very unabashedly wore my love for Mary Shelley on my sleeve.

Oh, and Tom Walker has a new (NSFW) SS Myra up. Guess you should read that too. If you haven’t got anything better to do.

Remember Rikshaw Boans? Yes, we’ve begun book #3 of 3, so all of Chekov’s guns from book #1 and #2 will now begin to haunt you. :)

Ah, back in the saddle. Traveling is great, meeting you all is great, but it’s such a good feeling to be catching up again.

Now that Spacetralwer book#2 finally arrived, I’ve been working all week on packaging and shipping them, over half are out already. The PDF is almost done, will have it out shortly! I’m a one man show, so have patience! <3

Oh, and if you want to order one? Book #2 should be available at the TopatoCo store in the next week or two!

Also, while in Toronto, I hung out with Don (of Road Apples Almanac) and Brian, and one night for a writing/drawing/goofing-off exercise/game/diversion we drew three comics, each writing and drawing one panel of each. Don posted them over on his site (below the comic in the blog).

And also also also Jason Clarke did an awesome re-draw of the book #2 cover. Drew Struzan eat your heart out! You can also find this picture along with other guest art pieces on the Spacetrawler “fan art” page.

Phew. Arrived home today and am totally and utterly beat. Up at 4 which is 1 here. Travel days can be so long sometimes.

But I look forward to getting back on top of things. Books in the mail hopefully all this week, and the full comic back in full-color glory on Monday.

TCAF was the bomb. What a good time. I think my favorite part was that it was in a library and free. So it just felt very open and friendly.

And the time in Toronto, I was entertained and shown around and taken care of by Brian and Don (of the lovely comic Road Apples Almanac). Good company.

So…. I was hoping the spacetrawler book #2 would arrive in early-mid april, but they arrived right as I hit these two comic conventions, and so it’s been a bit of a cluter-f*@$   keeping on top of it all.

And so with all that, I didn’t have enough time between Stumptown and TCAF to draw Monday’s and Wednesday’s strips. So I am posting abbreviated versions for now.

Insanely, I arrived home from Portland late Sunday night, and am leaving for Toronto Wednesday Morning. Brief times calls for brief blogs.

At Stumptown I got a copy of Modest Medusa. it was somewhat on my radar, but finally reading it was awesome. Oh, and Jake’s splendid company too, and fed me Chocodiles.

I’m posting today’s strip on Saturday night, as Sunday will be day #2 of Stumptown comic fest in Portland, and then I leave directly by bus back to Seattle, so tonight will be the last internet I have until late-late-late Sunday night.

So far, I’m having a great time at Stumptown (and always do), sitting with my goofy lovable friend Kevin. :)

Richard E. Robertson of Basketcase Software rendered the surface of Carpsellon and animated my 3-D model of Dimitri’s tank on it! And added a soundtrack! Totally cool! :)

Again, I will be tabling at Stumptown (table C-12) alongside Kevin Moore. And yes, I will have Spacetrawler book #2, and yes I will have the larger reprinted Little Dee 8.5×11 two volume set. And hopefully they will look awesome (for I have not yet seen them, they arrive (cross your fingers) Wednesday, at which point I begin mailing them).

Sorry. Wayyyy… behind. Got in from Vancouver last night at 3:30, and Beth wasn’t packed, so up til 3:00 or something, then up at 6:30 to bring her to the airport. Back home, took a nap then started working. half-way through I decided that I didn’t like Haldeyis’s design and so I began re-drawing the second half of the strip. Took a break for racquetball, and then on the way back home Kim’s car broke down. No winning today.

Anyhow, here’s where I’m at. It’s 9:00 now PST, I’m shooting to have the final done and uploaded by midnight. Give or take.

That Dimitri, he’s an awfully nice guy. If curious, Seledka is a Russian fish dish, it seems usually mackerel or herring, and usually accompanied by vodka.

Been in Vancouver BC all weekend babysitting my nephew, and seeing my brother and his wife, as well as visiting other friends. Such a good time, and the weather was so fortunately mostly nice. Ah, the Pacific NW.
