And I will be at the science fiction convention “Norwescon” in the Dealers Room all weekend (Thur-Sun), in Seatac WA, so stop by! (sadly, no Book #2 yet, I won’t have it for another couple weeks). And on Thursday and Saturday go-to-guy/author/madman Daniel Wolff will be at my table too! The hours are Thursday 4-8, Friday 11-6, Saturday 11-6, and Sunday 11-4.

I must admit, it was fun drawing Mars.

Had a fun time this weekend at the Emerald City Comic Con (even being WAY over-tired on Sunday). So many people to link to, so I’ll just highlight a few (I did just create a long list of quick links, and then in tiredness, lost them). I was sitting as ever with TopatoCo (thank you guys, so awesome!) between the very talented Jhonen Vasquez of “Johnny the Homicidal Maniac” and “Invader Zim” (pic above, sitting behind me) and Tyson Hesse of “Boxer Hockey” (which I’ve been so meaning to read, and so we traded books, and it is great) (pic of his comic below).

Also got to talk a bit with Mark Monlux, a local toonsmith, who does the webcomic “The Comic Critic.” His comic reviews films, and when you buy a book, he asks you what film you’d like to be in and then he draws you in it. I was VERY tired, and so “Star Wars” was all that came to mind. All fine and good. And then I read his little extra blurb, and once my mind caught up with the joke, I had a good laugh.

In Seattle this weekend? I’ll be at the Emerald City Comic Con, tabling at the TopatoCo Island. I WON’T have anything new, I’m afraid. Book 2 is still at the printer. But I’ll have book #1 and the Little Dee books.

All is well. The postcards were printed and arrived and look really good. The proofs for both Spacetrawler and the Little Dee reprints are hurtling towards me as we speak. Dan and I met to plan to take over the world, still some logistics to work out. No racquetball (Kim was sick). So, overall, just plugging away.

The original artwork for the Spacetrawler strip “Emily” is framed and hanging from today (March 26th) through sometime in April in the Ida Green Gallery, Austin College, Sherman, TX. The show is “Everything Old is New Again” put on by the The Ghost Town Arts Collective. Sadly I won’t get to see the show myself, so have a gander for me.

Angela Melick of the webcomic “Wasted Talent” has her new book “Welcome to The Real World” up for sale. Yay!

Don’t forget the Kickstarter for Book #2 campaign.

This strip makes me sad. I may laugh callously when I write death, but it also makes me sad. Ah, how mixed emotions can be.

Well, good. Now you know what our jolly crew is up against in book 3. And the characters who were doomed? They needed closure. Will I forget that aside from at-times-intense story that this is ALSO A COMEDY? — NO. Never.

It’s my brithday on Saturday. Whoot! Happy me. I’ll eat cake. And eat it too.

Tom Walker barely needs my links these days, but blackmail is blackmail, so I have to pony up. He posted a new (NSFW) SS MYRA yesterday. Delight in it.

Anyhow. Kickstarter still going through Monday, pre-orders for book #2 and other fun items: artwork, name as a character, postcards! It’s really really awesome. Check it out.

You can’t see much of the Mihrrgoot ship in today’s strip, but you will see more of it. And I’m pretty pleased with how it came out.

If you want to make wild mass guesses on the plot of Spacetrawler, someone posted a theory over on TVTropes.

There’s a video up of a panel I did with Tony DiGerolama(of Superfrat and a writer for the Simpsons) at InterventionCon in the DC area in the autumn of last year. The panel goes a bit smoother after about 5 minutes when I realized what panel I was on (“Getting Paid To Do What You Already Love”).

The jerk we all know and love, just not in “that” way, Tom Walker got a nice mention over at 1o9 of “Eight Sexy Webcomics” for his (NSFW) SS Myra.

Oh, and I have a comic in the current MAD Magazine. Check it out at your local library or newsstand!

Did I mention the Spacetrawler Kickstarter campaign? Of course I did.

Happy Day After Valentines Day! (umm)

Bit of a cliffhanger today, sorry to make you all wait ’til next week! :)

Thank you all so much for funding the printing of Book 2 through my Kickstarter campaign! As you may know, I have reached my goal, but you can still place pre-orders or support my work (you can have your name or face in the actual comic even!) there until the 27th! All extra proceeds will go to paying off the loans from printing book 1 and to the re-printing of Little Dee.

Well, I was planning on making Yuri blue, mixing Flineous (she she recently killed) and Kali the Hindu goddess of power. I was even going to post a venn diagram of Kali, Flineous, and a housecat with Yuri being where they all overlap. BUT, I couldn’t make it work without her looking like Neytiri the blue Pandorian from the movie “Avatar” (or Zhaan from “Farscape” if you’d rather). After much fussing and fidgeting and playing with various hues I decided on her new color scheme. Not what I had planned, but I am very pleased with it nonetheless.

Oh, and Dustin is back. You’d be amazed how many times I count the humans in each strip as I draw them (I know there’s SIX! SIX humas!) and then make sure I know where each character is. So easy to forget.

Let’s see… a few links. Tom Walker posted a new SS Myra, of course. And I received the amazing collection of Dicebox in the mail this week (with my own short comic of the charcaters in it), and am champing the bit to read it. Erika Moen and Jeff Parker finished their 102 page webcomic “Bucko” which is a very fun read (and they’re having a store sale to celebrate).
