Spent the weekend packing boxes. moving the office (my sweetie is opening a private practice, and so she is taking over the space and I’m taking over our home office). Fun! No, not fun. But not horrible. Boring, actually. Ah well. :)

Snow blizzard zilla Nor’easter hit us on Friday, but not that much. Nothing stopped. Out here in upstate NY it was simply kinda’ pretty, with icicle reminders.

Do you like B movies (sometimes!) and horror movies (Ugh! No!)? But if I DID, I’d read Dawn’s website reviewing them.

Ill be at the Glens Falls Chronicle Book Fair this Sunday in Glens Falls, NY! Come on by!

Looks like I might be doing Nanowrimo. (National Novel Writing Month, 50k words in November). I’ll know for sure by Monday if I crashed or burned — I’m sure it will be one of the two.

Okay, so I’m part of a Classic Genre Fiction Reading Group over on Goodreads, and in the spirit of Halloween we were to read Rosemary’s Baby. Now, I don’t watch scary movies or read scary books because for some peculiar reason I find that being scared is a very very strong emotion and is relatively unpleasant and so I’ve put it off to the very end of the month. But I must give it to Ira Levin, it’s an excellent read. I am totally paranoid now — and I haven’t even finished.

Anyhow, since Halloween falls on Wednesday, I’m guessing most of you have already done your spooky celebrating on the weekend. Nonetheless, Happy Halloween.

Sandy didn’t reach us, which is good for us. Everyone I know of in NYC is still fine, so that’s a relief, although it’s going to be a long painful clean-up for that city. Sending out good thoughts to NYC, Atlantic City, and all other places hit.

Oh, and Rebecca Clements is back from her sabbatical, providing weird cool comics to the internet once again.

Ooooh, it’s been a crazy week. Unpacking. In the bedroom I ripped up the carpet, painted the walls, stained and hung french doors. Mom and sister came to stay, then some friends came to stay. Wish I had the energy to stay up another hour and a half to watch the Mars landing. Sigh.

Makes me want a few quite days to just work and eat oats. Anyhow, here is my handiwork.

Again, I’m still in the midst of moving (I should be somewhere around South Dakota by the time you read this). My “real” scanner is in NY, and I was using my old tiny junky one back in Seattle. Which MEANS that the washes didn’t scan right and I couldn’t get them to line up. But, for now, it’s done. Sometime after I get there, I’ll go back and re-scan and fix it all.

I enjoyed building Dusty’s “vehicle.” I took the actual frame of a tricycle and welded it to a missile. I’m sure the Mihrrgoots did the same thing.

Had a fun time this weekend at the Emerald City Comic Con (even being WAY over-tired on Sunday). So many people to link to, so I’ll just highlight a few (I did just create a long list of quick links, and then in tiredness, lost them). I was sitting as ever with TopatoCo (thank you guys, so awesome!) between the very talented Jhonen Vasquez of “Johnny the Homicidal Maniac” and “Invader Zim” (pic above, sitting behind me) and Tyson Hesse of “Boxer Hockey” (which I’ve been so meaning to read, and so we traded books, and it is great) (pic of his comic below).

Also got to talk a bit with Mark Monlux, a local toonsmith, who does the webcomic “The Comic Critic.” His comic reviews films, and when you buy a book, he asks you what film you’d like to be in and then he draws you in it. I was VERY tired, and so “Star Wars” was all that came to mind. All fine and good. And then I read his little extra blurb, and once my mind caught up with the joke, I had a good laugh.

Don’t forget the Kickstarter for Book #2 campaign.

This strip makes me sad. I may laugh callously when I write death, but it also makes me sad. Ah, how mixed emotions can be.

Well, good. Now you know what our jolly crew is up against in book 3. And the characters who were doomed? They needed closure. Will I forget that aside from at-times-intense story that this is ALSO A COMEDY? — NO. Never.

It’s my brithday on Saturday. Whoot! Happy me. I’ll eat cake. And eat it too.

Anyhow. Kickstarter still going through Monday, pre-orders for book #2 and other fun items: artwork, name as a character, postcards! It’s really really awesome. Check it out.

You can’t see much of the Mihrrgoot ship in today’s strip, but you will see more of it. And I’m pretty pleased with how it came out.

If you want to make wild mass guesses on the plot of Spacetrawler, someone posted a theory over on TVTropes.

There’s a video up of a panel I did with Tony DiGerolama(of Superfrat and a writer for the Simpsons) at InterventionCon in the DC area in the autumn of last year. The panel goes a bit smoother after about 5 minutes when I realized what panel I was on (“Getting Paid To Do What You Already Love”).

Oh, and I have a comic in the current MAD Magazine. Check it out at your local library or newsstand!

Did I mention the Spacetrawler Kickstarter campaign? Of course I did.
